According to a report by MerchantCircle, 32% of the 8,456 businesses surveyed currently promote themselves through Facebook Places, and an additional 12% plan to use it in the next few months.
With Facebook Places just launched in Singapore, Taiwan and Australia, we believe that the service will be just as widely adopted as a marketing tool among Asian businesses.
Here, we highlight how JetBlue Airways uses Facebook Places in combination with its TrueBlue frequent flyer program.
The JetBlue Go Places Loyalty Promotion allows the airline’s Fans to earn special offers, TrueBlue points, and exclusive badges for checking into Official JetBlue Terminals on Facebook Places.
To participate in the promotion, Fans simply need to have/sign up for a TrueBlue membership account and to complete the electronic registration form on the JetBlue Page. Once they have done so, they can start checking-in to eligible JetBlue terminals via Facebook Places to earn Badges and TrueBlue points.
